The Responsible-Industry project
distinguishes between communication, dissemination and exploitation.
- Communication is the two-way exchange of
information that is characterised by mutual respect and a willingness to take
one another serious. Communication is at the heart of the concept of
responsiveness, which Schomberg (2011) defines as the core of RRI.
The Responsible-Industry
project demonstrates its willingness to communicate through its extensive
stakeholder dialogue and networking activities.
- Dissemination in the context of the present
project is the provision of relevant information to potential recipients. It
includes the production of information material in digital and other form and
the development of relevant communication channels.
- Exploitation, finally, is the process of rendering
disseminated information practical and useful by ensuring its uptake by
relevant recipients and stakeholders.
