Industry representatives, policy-makers, researchers and civil society organisations members from across Europe exchanged their views on the concept of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), discussed critical aspects of RRI, shared experiences, approaches and perspectives and provided feedback on the Implementation Plan of Responsible-Industry and its possible practical application.

The active and productive participation of stakeholders from industry, policy makers, regulators, researchers, Civil Society Organizations and others in this workshop led to a thorough discussion on the main issues at the base of RRI as well as the principles, methodologies and governance tools that can help industry to attain the RRI goals and their experiences regarding RRI practices. The results provided useful input for the further development of a framework for implementing RRI in the research and innovation process for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for an ageing society.

Stakeholder Dialogue Workshop (2016)

The FP7 Responsible Industry Project has undertaken an in-depth analysis and consultation of stakeholders in Europe and worldwide aimed at identifying the critical elements that should be addressed to pursue this goal, focusing on the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Services for an ageing society.
This activity has given insights for the preparation of a draft Framework for Implementing RRI in ICT for an Ageing Society that provides principles, procedures and operative goals indicating how industry can work together with societal actors to integrate RRI into the research and innovation process. This workshop aimed to:
Present newest outcomes of the Responsible Industry Project;
Illustrate results of the project analysis and stakeholder consultation;
Highlight and discuss international perspectives of RRI from China, Japan and USA;
Discuss different principles, values and perspectives regarding RRI;
Present and debate the draft Framework for Implementing RRI.
